Description
Fraudulent financial reporting is illegal and will have negative implications on financial accountants who are associated with the fraudulent financial reports, regardless of whether the financial accountants are complicit in or otherwise ignorant of the fraudulent financial reporting.
A new “NOCLAR” pronouncement in Ethics Pronouncement ( EP ) 100 requires financial accountants to respond to identified or suspect non-compliance of law or regulation. It is unethical if financial accountants failed to respond to NOCLAR appropriately.
The “NOCLAR” pronouncement expects professional accountants to apply knowledge, professional judgment and expertise, but is not expected to have a level of understanding of laws and regulations beyond that which is required for the professional accountant’s role within the employing organization. For financial accountants, this means the knowledge of financial reporting and fraudulent financial reporting.
This webinar aims to provide an introduction to some common fraudulent financial reporting scheme to enhance financial accountants’ competence in becoming aware of the occurrence of fraudulent financial reporting.
