Learn strategies, tips and tools which will help you to hold constructive, focussed, performance conversations that deliver results and build stronger relationships. These skills save you time, energy and frustration! They also help you achieve your goals more easily, and they support long-term employee retention.

What is a performance conversation? It is any conversation that involves discussing:

  • What good performance looks like, and how it is measured
  • Work tasks that have been delivered in ways which are below the standard needed
  • Workplace behaviour which is inappropriate in any way
  • Where overall employee performance is below required the standard
  • Performance conversations are often the type of conversation that we ‘love to hate’, and so, many managers and leaders will wait too long to hold them, or avoid holding them altogether!

This webinar will introduce you to simple and effective tools for talking about performance and performance issues with employees and stakeholders whilst also showing you how you can stay calm and focus the conversation where you want it go.

The content focusses on best-practice conversation techniques that support you to stay constructive and outcome focussed, and help you focus on performance matters professionally and simply. Developing these proven skills will broaden and deepen your leadership capability, supporting you to manage performance issues more smoothly and toward better outcomes.

You will no longer need to avoid, put-off or fear performance conversations!

  • You will learn simple, empirically valid and concrete ways to set performance standards inclusively and engender greater ownership and engagement within your team
  • You will learn how and when to approach performance gaps and issues in ways that both get to heart of the performance matter and strengthen relationships.
  • Understand what level of detail is appropriate for managing different members across different tasks so that performance requests are clear
  • Improve your self-awareness and emotional intelligence about how you handle performance conversations, and how you hold yourself back from these.
