Description
In an era where climate change is a pressing global issue, understanding and managing carbon emissions is crucial for businesses and individuals alike. Major global organisations have already begun reporting and meeting more robust requirements. A greater number of medium and smaller organisations will also be required to calculate and report carbon emissions, mainly driven by a variety of factors such as upcoming regulations, customers and bidding requirements.
From 2024, environmental-sustainability criteria will be added to the evaluation of large construction and information and communications technology (ICT) tenders, as the local government moves towards greening its supply chain. These two sectors collectively make up more than 60 per cent of the value of government procurement contracts awarded.
This one-day workshop delves into the fundamentals of greenhouse gases (GHGs), their impact on climate change, and the importance of carbon management. Participants will gain insights into local and international frameworks and regulations, learn to differentiate between Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, and acquire practical skills in calculating and reporting carbon emissions for sustainability reporting and assurance.
